Suitable to ease the effects of
- Acute bronchitis – Bronchiectasis is a condition characterized by abnormal widening and scarring of the airways, leading to mucus buildup and recurrent infections. Hypertonic saline inhalation can help improve mucus clearance and reduce the risk of infections in people with bronchiectasis.
- Cystic Fibrosis – People with cystic fibrosis often have thick, sticky mucus in their airways, which can lead to lung infections and breathing difficulties. Hypertonic saline inhalation helps hydrate the airway surface and thin out the mucus, making it easier to clear from the lungs through coughing or other airway clearance techniques.
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease – In COPD, excessive mucus production and airway inflammation can contribute to breathing difficulties. Use hypertonic saline as an adjunct therapy to help loosen and clear mucus from the airways, especially during exacerbations of the disease.
